Billhorn Converters evolved from the merger of Billhorn Board & Paper in West Monroe, LA, Billhorn South Carolina in Spartanburg, SC, and 3BP dba Billhorn Northwest in Kalama, WA and Billhorn Brothers logistics in Monroe, LA.
Billhorn Board & Paper was founded in 1990 by Fred and Jeff Billhorn. Fred provided financing and years of experience to the start up paper and board brokerage company. In 1991 the company relocated to Gulf Breeze, FL and Fred sold 100% of the stock in the company to his son Jeff for $1.00. The company grew rapidly and opened its first converting plant in Monroe, LA in 1994. With 10,000 sq.ft. and one worn out rewinder on the wrong side of the tracks, the company went into production. Jeff moved back to Monroe in 1995 to oversee the operations and grow the converting business. As sales grew, the need for more space and equipment also grew. Today the plant in West Monroe has approx. 75,000 sq. ft. with more than ten production lines producing slit, sheeted, coated, printed products of all description.
Billhorn South Carolina was formed in 2002 to support the company’s expansion into the East Coast territory. The plant in Spartanburg is the largest of the organizations facilities with 120,000 sq.ft. This location has six production lines making a variety of industrial products on its slitter, rewinders, and printing press. The plant does regional distribution for a number of industries and earned AIB certification in 2008.
3BP originally was a partnership between the brothers Jay and Jeff Billhorn and was founded in 2005. The company operated a 65,000 sq. ft. logistics and warehousing organization in Monroe, LA and a converting facility in Kalama, WA, just outside of Portland, OR. The Logistics company services a variety of industries providing cross docking, storage, and delivery utilizing Billhorn’s fleet of trucks. The 50,000 sq.ft. plant in the Northwest provides slitting and sheeting services to customers from So. CA to British Columbia.

Chuck Allen, V.P. of Converting, and his maintenance department have successfully completed the installation of our CMS Differential Gravure coater. We married the machine to a 50” wide, 6 color flexo press in our West Monroe facility. Our intent is to develop business for all kinds of functional coated substrates such as Tenting, Anti Slip, OGR, Anti Microbial, adhesive, and others that would benefit from our ability to coat and print inline. We have several projects in the works and welcome inquiries from coating manufactures and brokers.
